Connect NinjaTrader to Edmond

Use your own NinjaTrader license with the Rithmic login Edmond already gives you.

Edmond does not include a NinjaTrader license. R|Trader Pro and TradeSea are included. If you already pay for NinjaTrader and it connects through Rithmic, you may use that personal subscription with your Edmond User ID and password. You pay for the NinjaTrader license and its setup. Edmond’s rules still govern the account.

Before you start

  • User ID and password from Setup and Key (or your welcome email). The User ID looks like ETF-XXXXXX.
  • System / Gateway named in that same email. It is often Rithmic Paper Trading. Evaluation and PRO accounts both trade in a simulated environment. Use the paper system from the email, not a live brokerage system.
  • Market-data agreements finished, with status Non-Professional. Unsigned agreements can log you in and still leave charts blank. Walkthrough: Connect Rithmic.
  • NinjaTrader Desktop on Windows, with your own paid license. The free license is not enough to trade this account.

Connect in NinjaTrader

NinjaTrader’s connection list shows generic Rithmic systems, not firm names. You will not find “Edmond Trader Funding” in that list. Your ETF User ID is what identifies the account.

  1. In NinjaTrader, open Tools → Settings → General, turn on Multi-Provider, then close NinjaTrader completely and open it again. The Connections menu stays incomplete until that restart.
  2. In the Control Center, open Connections → Configure. Add the stock Rithmic connection that ships with NinjaTrader. There is no Edmond-branded entry.
  3. Enter your ETF User ID and password exactly as issued, including the hyphen and letter case. A trailing space from a copy-paste is a common login failure.
  4. Set System to the name in your welcome email (often Rithmic Paper Trading). If the email and this page disagree, follow the email. Do not switch a PRO account to a live system.
  5. Name the connection something you will recognize, such as “Edmond eval”, then connect. Confirm your Edmond account appears, and a chart of a contract you are allowed to trade fills with data. Account present but no data usually means the market-data agreements in step 1 of “Before you start” are still open.

Plugin mode (optional)

Some platforms attach through R|Trader Pro instead of a direct Rithmic login. If you use plugin mode:

  1. Start R|Trader Pro and click Allow Plugins before you log in.
  2. Log in and leave R|Trader Pro running.
  3. Connect NinjaTrader through plugin mode. It stops working if you close R|Trader Pro.

If it will not connect

  • System in NinjaTrader matches the welcome email.
  • User ID matches Setup and Key, with no extra spaces.
  • Mandatory agreements are agreed, and market data is Non-Professional.
  • You are not trying to run two separate Rithmic connections in NinjaTrader at once. One connection can hold several accounts under the same Edmond login.
